how to draw patterns by using simple and basic shapes in your design.

In this new exercise of digiskills 2.0 batch 01, you have been given the task of designing or preparing two different patterns using basic shapes like circles, triangles, or rectangular. 

Well, You already know which shapes are called basic shapes when it comes to using them in any design or pattern.

circle, triangle, rectangular, and square all are the basic shapes and these can be used in our designs

Now in this exercise, we have to draw two patterns by using two or more shapes from the given above shapes.

Here on your exercise file, It is mentioned to draw both patterns on white paper by using different color pencils. The best choice is to just take one white paper and draw those two patterns of your choice and then take the picture and insert it into MS Word.

Important guidelines:

• don't copy any other students' assignments and try to draw by yourself by watching my video tutorial on youtube.
• The other thing which is important too is to solve and submit your exercise in Doc or Docx format only.
• Better is to solve your exercise on paper but if it is a bit difficult for you to arrange paper and all those colors then you can prepare on MS Word or Adobe Illustrator as well. 
• You can also prepare and submit your exercise by using mobile as well. MS word application is available on the play store which is free to download and use. watch my video tutorial.

tools required to solve this exercise depends on which method you are using. If you are solving this exercise on paper then, You need 1 paper, 1 pen , one scale a lid of a bottle to make circles with the help of coin or lid of any bottle of good size.

You also need some color pencils as well.

adobe illustrator is also a good tool for this exercise.

Let's discuss solving this exercise on MS word. Ms word provides best and easy options to solve this exercise.

Solution Method:

• 1st of all launch ms word in your laptop or pc and then give your exercise a proper heading and title. 
• Now its time to draw patterns for that you need 2 boxes each of same size and empty from inside. For that click on insert button from the top menu bar.

• Click the insert button select a sqaure and from the given shape options. Drag the mouse with left key pressed. your one box will be ready. you can change its color and outer color from the given options.
• now press control+C both keys at the same time to copy the box and then press control+V to paste a new generated copy of same size.

• After that again click on insert and click on shapes, from shapes select one circle and draw it inside the box. Click on the circle and then click control+C to copy and control+v to paste as many copies as you required. Place them all in a line and now click the insert option again.
• now click on a triangle and then draw a triangle inside of the box. Again create copies by clicking the copy option and generating copies as many as can be placed in front of the circles you created earlier.

• after completing the pattern as in this picture above, you can color the shape according to your choice. color fill option is right there in front of you in the main menu.
• Your one pattern is completed and now you need to complete your second shape as well.
• for that, you need to rethink a new pattern and draw it in the second box.
• following is the image of the 2nd pattern and you can see and take an idea from that as well.

here you can see the second pattern and the 1st one look both different but elegant.
in the second pattern, I have again used circle and triangle, and this time I have used different colors from the 1st one.

the left-hand pattern is more colorful on the other hand right-hand pattern seems to be cooler.

the black and blue combination make 2nd pattern simple and cool.

Can we use adobe illustrator for this exercise solution is an another question.

well, I earlier mention that this exercise of digiskills 2.0 graphic design is total a handwork and you should prepare it on a simple white paper. But some students face difficulties when it comes to prepare it on paper. 

after MS word option there is an another option for you guys. You can prepare your patterns on adobe illustrator as well if you can afford that.

an adobe illustrator is an adobe software just like adobe photoshop, adobe InDesign and adobe premier pro, etc.

This time I have used the circle, square, and polygon shapes to draw those required patterns.

As you can see in 1st pattern polygon and circle where polygon has yellow color and circle have given the red color.  Five polygons and five circles are arranged vertically in our left-hand side pattern.

when it comes to the right-hand side pattern you can see above the circle and square shapes are used. Now in the 2nd pattern horizontal lines are made by using those shapes. Again color is red and yellow. By the way color and shapes, the choice is totally yours. keep the hunt on to find and draw best patterns by yourself.

your exercise if prepared on paper should be a picture inserted to Ms word and if on MS word then should have both patterns well balanced.

One thing is important to use of shapes available in adobe illustrator. well, all shapes are available in adobe as they are available in MS Word.

you can also use the pen tool from the toolbar to draw any shape of your choice by yourself as well.
